- Status: "Emeritus" is an honorary title, recognizing distinguished academic service. An Emeritus professor is a professor officially retired, but still active in his/her university.
- Rights: The Emeritus Professor may be engaged in a variety of activities in a voluntary basis, such as providing guest lectures, supporting PhD students, even if they cannot be the supervisor.
- Salary range: Emeritus Professors are volunteers and cannot be employees of the University.
