Description
- Status: the contractual doctoral student is non-incumbent agent of the State. The doctoral contract, concluded for a period of three years, provides all the social guarantees of a real contract of employment, in accordance with public law.
- Institutions concerned: public institutions of scientific, cultural and professional nature (EPSCP), public administrative institutions of higher education (EPST), public scientific and technological establishments and other public administrative establishments with a statutory mission of higher education or research
- Duties: The doctoral student undertakes, under the supervision of a thesis supervisor, a research project including writing and defending a thesis in order to obtain the diploma of Doctor (PhD). The nature of the activities other than the research activities related to the doctoral preparation that the contractual doctoral student agrees to perform is specified in the contract. The service may be devoted exclusively to research activities related to the preparation of the doctorate or include, in addition to these research activities,
- an annual service equal to one-sixth of the annual effective working time and devoted to the following activities:
teaching as part of a teaching team, for a service equal to no more than one-third of the annual reference teacher-researcher service - dissemination of scientific and technical information, exploitation of the results of scientific and technical research;
- expertise missions carried out in a company, a local authority, an administration, a public institution, an association or a foundation.
- an annual service equal to one-sixth of the annual effective working time and devoted to the following activities:
The list of these activities can be modified each year by amendment.
- Salary range: minimum remuneration fixed by the contract: 1684.93 euros monthly gross for a research activity alone and 2024.70 euros gross for additional activities (25/10/2017). This salary can be negotiated above this minimum without limit of remuneration.
- Statut: Le doctorant contractuel est un agent non titulaire de l'État. Le contrat doctoral, conclu pour une durée de trois ans, apporte toutes les garanties sociales d'un vrai contrat de travail, conforme au droit public.
- Institutions concernées : établissements publics à caractère scientifique, culturel et professionnel (EPSCP), les établissements publics administratifs d’enseignement supérieur (EPST), les établissements publics scientifiques et technologiques et les autres établissements publics administratifs ayant une mission statutaire d’enseignement supérieur ou de recherche
- Obligations: Le doctorant s'engage, sous la supervision d'un directeur de thèse, dans un projet de recherche comprenant la rédaction et la soutenance d'une thèse dans le but d'obtenir le diplôme de docteur. La nature des activités autres que les activités de recherche liées à la préparation du doctorat que le doctorant contractuel accepte d’exercer est précisée dans le contrat. Le service du doctorant contractuel peut être exclusivement consacré aux activités de recherche liées à la préparation du doctorat ou inclure, outre ces activités de recherche, un service annuel égal au sixième de la durée annuelle de travail effectif et consacré aux activités suivantes :
- enseignement dans le cadre d’une équipe pédagogique, pour un service égal au plus au tiers du service annuel d’enseignement de référence des enseignants-chercheur
- diffusion de l’information scientifique et technique ; valorisation des résultats de la recherche scientifique et technique ;
- missions d’expertise effectuées dans une entreprise, une collectivité territoriale, une administration, un établissement public, une association ou une fondation.
La liste de ces activités peut être modifiée chaque année par avenant.
- Fourchette de salaire: rémunération minimale fixée par le contrat : 1684,93 euros bruts mensuels pour une activité de recherche seule et à 2024,70 euros bruts en cas d'activités complémentaires (25/10/2017). Ce salaire peut être négocié au dessus de ce minimum sans limite de plafond de rémunération.
