Postdoctoral positions concern PhD graduates. Applicants must be within a certain number of years of the award of a doctorate (mentioned in the job offer, but rarely more than 10 years).

Apply for a position: often online application composed of a CV (Education, Experience) and a cover letter, as well as the names of 3 referees that my be contacted prior or after the interview.

Be auditioned by a panel often composed of the Principal Investigator, the Project Manager and another academics.

• Status: A postdoc is a PhD graduate working on a research project generally funded by a national or international grant and under the supervision of a professor, the principal investigator (PI) of the project. Postdoc is a transitory position (a stepping stone)  to a more stable position. A postdoc is a fixed-term position (generally between 1 and 3 years).

• Duties: the duties are described in the job offer and in the contract, but could cover research and administration tasks.
• Salary range: the average postdoc salary is around 30K (per year).
