The Doctorat de troisième cycle was also called "doctorate of speciality" (3rd cycle). It existed in the previous regulations before the 1984 reform on higher education. There is now only one doctorate, called the "doctorat nouveau régime" (new regime doctorate).
Le Doctorat de troisième cycle, également appelé "doctorat de spécialité" (3e cycle), existait dans les règlements antérieurs à la réforme de 1984 relative à l'enseignement supérieur. Il n'existe maintenant qu'un seul doctorat appelé Doctorat "nouveau régime".
